WATER

Please remember to send a full water bottle with your child everyday. Your child's name should be placed on the bottle.

Outdoor Recess

On most days except on days of inclement weather or when the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, students go outside to play to enjoy the outdoors. If your child is well enough to come to school, they are well enough to go outside during recess.  It is very important that students come to school with proper outdoor attire, such as jackets, hats, and gloves in order for them to be safe and comfortable during recess.

It's great to see the students playing in the snow when they are out at recess!

In addition to sending your children in with their snow gear, please provide your children with an extra pair of pants and underwear. Many students are getting wet through their snow gear and the nurse's office does not have the clothing to accommodate the volume of students getting wet.

The nurse's office is accepting pants donations of all sizes (especially large sizes) and packaged underwear, if you'd like to send them in.

Thank you, Lynn Sakey MEd BSN RN NCSN

BayState Textile Recycling

The focus of the School Box Program is to spread awareness and educate on the problem of textile waste. A donation box is placed outside of each school in a district generating a rebate based on the weight of donations.

Baystate textile will grade ("triage") the donations to figure out if they can be used best: for export as used clothing, they are all cut into wiping rags and resold to companies through the United States that need wipers to keep their plant and equipment clean, or they are broken down into fiber material.  Consumers see this material in items such as carpet padding, insulation, and high tech building material like Trex.  For more information see their website http://baystatetextiles.com
