As we continue to get back to some practices that we have not utilized due to the pandemic, we wanted to give an update in regards to reported COVID cases over the last few weeks. The weeks prior to February break we had 12 reported COVID cases (9 student cases and 3 staff cases). During our first week back from break last week, we had 22 cases (16 students cases and 6 staff cases). This week, we have had 14 reported cases as of the recording of this update and all of these cases are student cases.

Equity Audit
We wanted to continue to inform families about the start of our district’s Equity Audit by BlackPrint Inc. which is now beginning and will be completed next fall. An initial Town Hall was held last evening to answer questions attendees had about the audit and to get input from stakeholders on areas that they considered significant. There will be future opportunities for stakeholders to get more information and have questions answered about the audit. We are about to start the visitation part of the Equity Audit process across the district. Please know that the commitment to an Equity Audit began three years ago as a part of our District Improvement Plan and was included in Dr. Conti’s professional practice goal. Stakeholders are also invited to email BlackPrint at [email protected] to ask questions or provide feedback

Memorial Elementary Principal Search
As noted last week, the posting for the position of Memorial School Principal closed on Friday, March 4th and we want to share our process moving forward. Our hope is to complete the process of interviews and have a finalist or multiple finalists meet with Dr. Conti during the week of April 28th. Here is a brief timeline of how we expect the process to proceed. In addition, we are looking for both feedback and volunteers to support us in our work to complete this search. Please complete the form linked here* to share your voice in the process or to volunteer to serve on the screening committee if you are interested. The following translated versions of this form are available:

- Arabic
- Chinese
- Gujarati
- Haitian Creole
- Portuguese
- Spanish

We would need the individuals interested in serving on the screening committee to be available on the following dates: March 23, April 7, April 11, April 12 from 3-8 p.m.

We will share similar information on the search process for the Director of Special Education next week.
