Communication on COVID Protocol Changes

This is the image for the news article titled Communication on COVID Protocol ChangesAs was discussed in last week’s BPS Update that was sent to staff and families on Friday, January 7th, we are modifying our current mitigation practices due to the large number of cases in our community and schools. We hope that this change will be in place for just the next two weeks and that we will see a decline in the rate of positive individuals who are in school. These guidelines are taken directly from CDC and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education guidelines/protocols. Our previous mitigation practice of Test and Stay with close contacts of positive individuals from classrooms is not sustainable or effective in reducing the spread of COVID and keeping students in classrooms at this time. We will complete Test and Stay for any students already in the process of testing for 5 days, but as of Thursday, January 13, 2022, we will be transitioning to the guidelines linked here on our district website for new cases.

Please review the guidelines and utilize the email [email protected] for follow up questions, concerns, and comments.
