Dropping off your child/children

Greetings Parents and Guardians:

In an attempt to alleviate some of the stress and traffic concerns surrounding morning arrival/drop off, we will be changing the location of the buses and car drop off. The change will allow arrival traffic to flow faster and there will be no risk of students being marked late because they were stuck in the car line.

Starting Monday 11/22/2021 the morning arrival/car drop off location will change to the rear of the school building.  There will be NO CHANGE to dismissal procedures. If you arrive to school late, after 8:10 am please continue to use the front entrance of the school, so the main office can capture the attendance.

Following the diagram below, cars will enter the driveway on Winn St., the side of the school (close to the church) where the sign  currently says “buses only”. Cars will circle the rear of the building and drop students off near the cafeteria entrance, and exit out through the church parking lot/stop light. There will be extra signs, cones and staff to help with the transition.

Bus Drop Off

Greetings Parents and Guardians:

In an attempt to alleviate some of the stress and traffic concerns surrounding morning arrival/drop off, we will be changing the location of the buses and car drop off. The change will allow arrival traffic to flow faster and there will be no risk of students being marked late because they were stuck in the car line.

Starting Monday 11/22/2021 the morning arrival bus drop off location will change to the front/playground side of the school building.  Students will exit the buses and enter the building through the 1st grade wing entrance. Below is a picture of the new location. Buses will enter through the front parking lot, circle around and out to exit.

Arriving Late or Dismissing Early

If you need to bring your child in late (after 8:10 am) or dismiss them early (before 2:15 pm), please park in the front of the school and ring the bell to inform us you are here. If you need to pick your child up early,  please ring the bell and the office will call the classroom to have your child come down.

Again, please be sure to fill out the change of dismissal form by 9:00 a.m if you intend on picking your child up early. You will not be able to pick up your child early without filling this form out or sending a note in with your child in the morning.

Buses

This is a friendly reminder that there will be no students allowed to take other students buses. Only students assigned to the bus should be riding it to and from school.

All riders will be required to wear a mask. Please see  Bus Schedules for bus stops and times.

Water Bottles

Please remember to send a full water bottle with your child everyday. Your child's name should be placed on the bottle. There are many water bottles in the lost and found, please have your child check to see if their lost water bottle is down there.

Outdoor Recess

On most days except on days of inclement weather or when the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, students go outside to play to enjoy the outdoors. If your child is well enough to come to school, they are well enough to go outside during recess.  It is very important that students come to school with proper outdoor attire, such as jackets, hats, and gloves in order for them to be safe and comfortable during recess.

BayState Textile Recycling

The focus of the School Box Program is to spread awareness and educate on the problem of textile waste. A donation box is placed outside of each school in a district generating a rebate based on the weight of donations.

Baystate textile will grade ("triage") the donations to figure out if they can be used best: for export as used clothing, they are all cut into wiping rags and resold to companies through the United States that need wipers to keep their plant and equipment clean, or they are broken down into fiber material.  Consumers see this material in items such as carpet padding, insulation, and high tech building material like Trex.  For more information see their website http://baystatetextiles.com
